PINROSE:
Could you share a memory of a travel destination or a place (like home or elsewhere)...and what that memory SMELLS like?

KAYLAN:
I grew up in Southern Oregon, and one of my favorite places to visit is a little town called Ashland right on the California border. I used to think it was a magical place because it’s just so beautiful. There are wrought iron lamppost with pennant flags lining the streets, and old brick buildings with ivy covered walls. It’s a total hippy town too, so you just meander in and out of these amazing shops that smell like patchouli and incense and old books, where they sell crystals and decks of tarot cards. There’s the smell of lavender from the soap maker, there’s the smell of fresh bread and garlic from the local restaurants. It’s just such a cool place with such a unique blend of smells in the air, I really feel like I could recognize it anywhere.
